"Dark Dream"

Albums > Dark Dream > Lyrics > Track 2. The Root of the Problem

Run brother run, you can run around the earth
The longest road still leads to your place of birth
Blindfold children of the endless revolution
(they don't know) the root of the problem is the root of the solution

Go on, point the finger everywhere you look
If you do not blame the author you can blame the book
Heavy chains of history, the ancient institution
But the root of the problem is the root of the solution

The trunk, the branch, the flowers, the fruit
Everything springs up from the root
Without the root nothing can stand
The tree, the tribe, the state
The individual, the individual, the individual woman and man

You can soar up like a bird, dig down like a mole
Shiver on a mountain top, sweat inside a hole
Pilgrimage or penance cannot exact restitution
For the root of the problem is the root of the solution

If you're spoiling for a fight there's politics to try
You can be right wing , left wing but you still can't fly
Bend the agenda, refute the constitution
Still the root of the problem is the root of the solution

(Repeat middle 8 then first verse)
