Track 9. Presence

This is about acceptance despite all the stuff inside and out we can’t get rid of in this world; I am nearest to grasping this – or at least getting a fingertip on it – during a simple Communion service, which demonstrates God’s love is inclusive rather than exclusive.

It doesn’t matter that you have come here
when you’ve still got clay upon your shoes
It doesn’t matter if you are confused
by the twists and the turns of the journey
Your place is set, your needs are met,
your board and your lodging were paid by a friend
in the end all you need to qualify
Is simply to be here

All of the complications resolve into simplicity
All of your expectations can be buried - let them lie
The soul is like a refugee that here at last finds sanctuary
Below above, there is no other love
No other goal

All of forever is in this now
Everywhere is this place
All that will be will be here
It all comes free; we call it grace

Nothing you can bring, nothing you can offer
Nothing you can beg borrow or buy or steal
Nothing you can say, no price they cane make you pay

All of forever is in this now
Everywhere is this place
All that will be will be here
It all comes free; that’s grace
